For addons I needed HA with Supervisor, that is only on the OS version, so I used KVM:  

 https://www.home-assistant.io/installation/linux#install-home-assistant-container

and for Raspbery Pi 3/4:

sudo virsh list --all

Then enable advanced mode under username/settings

Then add Terminal & SSH
